My intended 2 day trip to Milan turned into a 3.5 day trip compliments of Easyjet. Supposedly the Milan-Berlin evening flight frequently gets canceled and we weren't really given a reason, ground personnel strikes supposedly, which my students suggested actually means the captain couldn't make it, another student suggested technical issues. Both seem very plausible. I for one thoroughly enjoyed the extra day in sunny, warm northern Italy, near a small town called Oreggio. Meanwhile Mama and Papa were back in rainy, cold Berlin. The photo above is the view from my room at the Ramada Inn, surrounded by fields. After breakfast I met my new friends at the pool, where we did some serious sun tanning and burning, then we had lunch, all provided by Easyjet surprisingly. In the afternoon we walked to Oreggio (ca. 30 minutes) and took the train to Lago Maggiore (ca 20 minutes) to an adorable little town called Arona. We walked around town and hiked up to San Carlo.
